For renters, buyers, agencies and property owners in Portugal

Your verified rental profile for your next home.

Portugal has no credit score. So agencies ask for payslips, IRS statements, a fiador — or months of rent upfront. Casaporte verifies your identity and finances once, and turns them into a single verified profile you can share with any agency or owner in seconds. Renting or buying.

A true story, more or less

Beatriz just landed in Lisbon. Here's how she found a home.

She just landed

New city, new job. No Portuguese credit history, no fiador, no landlord who knows her name.

Why housing here is so hard — and what actually fixes it

It isn't you. The Portuguese market has four structural problems, and almost everyone hits all four.

There's no credit score in Portugal

Unlike the UK or US, Portugal has no universal credit-scoring system. Nobody can look you up — so they ask for documents instead, and judge by gut. If you're new here, there's nothing to look up at all.

No fiador? Expect months upfront

A fiador is a Portuguese guarantor who signs alongside you. Most newcomers can't get one, so owners commonly ask for several months' rent in advance instead. Verified income gives them a reason not to.

You're applicant number 74

Popular listings draw dozens of inquiries within hours. Without proof attached, your message is one of hundreds — and the fastest-looking safe bet wins.

Buyers get treated as tyre-kickers

If you're buying with funds sitting in a foreign bank, agents have no way to tell you apart from someone browsing on a Sunday. Verified funds get you taken seriously — and get you viewings.

How Casaporte works

Three minutes, once. Then every application takes one tap.

01Verify once

Confirm your ID with a live camera check, then add a bank statement or payslip. Our AI reads it in seconds, keeps only the facts that matter — and deletes the file.

02Share one link

Send a named, expiring profile link to any agency or private owner — including ones who've never heard of Casaporte. They open a page, not an attachment.

03Get taken seriously

Agencies see verified facts instead of unstructured messages. Verified applicants get read first — whether you're renting or buying.

What gets verified

Exactly what an agency needs to decide — and nothing they don't.

Your identityA live document scan and liveness check, run by a regulated verification provider. Not a photo you uploaded.
Your income — or your fundsRenting? We read your income from your own statement or payslip, and show an affordability band — "comfortably affords up to €X" — never your exact salary unless you choose. Buying? We attest a funds band, never your balance.
Your housing historyOn-time rent detected in your statements. Own your home instead? Mortgage payments count exactly the same — six years of on-time payments is a strong record wherever you paid it.
Your referenceYour previous landlord confirms your tenancy in thirty seconds. No account, no app, no forms.

Your documents don't stay with us

The whole product rests on one promise: we keep facts, not files.

Read once, then deleted

Our AI reads your document, extracts the facts, and the original file is deleted. You watch it happen on screen.

You choose how to verify

Upload a statement, or connect your bank read-only — your choice. Either way we compute a small set of facts and keep nothing else.

EU data, GDPR by design

Hosted in the EU. Raw transactions are deleted once your facts are computed. Every share is named, time-limited, logged and revocable.

No algorithm judges you

Casaporte never scores or ranks people, and never shows your photo to an agency. We read only the facts that matter for renting — we never dig through or profile your spending. We verify facts; humans decide. That's a design rule, not a setting.

Pricing

Free for renters and buyers — for as many applications and profile shares as you like.

Questions people ask us

Can I rent in Portugal without a fiador?

Often, yes — but you need to give the owner a reason to say yes. A fiador is a Portuguese guarantor who signs the lease alongside you, and most newcomers can't find one. Owners ask for it because Portugal has no credit-scoring system, so they have no other way to judge risk. Verified income and a record of on-time payments answers the same worry directly, which is exactly what a Casaporte profile shows.

What documents do I need to rent a flat in Portugal?

Typically valid ID or passport, your NIF (Portuguese tax number), and proof of income — usually your last three payslips, your most recent IRS statement, or bank statements. Self-employed renters are often asked for recibos verdes. Some owners also request an employment contract or a fiador. Casaporte turns those into one verified profile you build once and reuse everywhere.

I've just moved to Portugal and have no local history. Does this work for me?

That's exactly who we built it for. Your bank statement proves real income and real housing payments regardless of how long you've been here, and it works with foreign banks too. No Portuguese credit history is needed — no such system exists here anyway.

What is a buyer profile?

A verified file showing your identity and a band of available funds — for example "verified funds: €200k–250k". It proves you're a serious buyer without revealing your balance. It is not AML or KYC compliance; agencies remain responsible for their own obligations.

Do you check where my money came from?

No. We confirm that funds are present across the statement period and nothing more. We never ask about the origin of your money and we don't run compliance screening.

What exactly does an agency see?

Verified identity, an affordability or funds band, your payment history, references and document completeness. Your exact salary, balance and transactions stay private unless you switch them on. No photo of you is ever shown. Every view is logged and you can revoke access at any time.

I own a home in another country — is that useful?

Very. Mortgage payments count the same as rent. If your statements show years of on-time mortgage payments, that becomes verified housing history — a stronger record than most renters can show.

Is my bank statement safe?

We read it once, extract the facts, and delete the file. We never store your document or transaction history, and we're hosted in the EU under GDPR. You'll see the deletion happen on screen.

Does Casaporte decide who gets the property?

Never. We don't score, rank or recommend people, and we never show your photo. We verify facts; the agency or owner decides. This is a hard design rule, not a setting.

How much does it cost?

Nothing for renters and buyers — building and sharing your profile is free, and receiving a verified profile is always free. Landlords get their first letting free (up to 5 applicants), then €29 per letting for unlimited applicants. Agencies start free with one active listing, then €49–€599/month by how many listings you're filling.
